Several churches in the Alex City Area are coming together to offer a free Thanksgiving meal to those in the Alexander City community.
The meal will be served at the Benjamin Russell High School cafeteria from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The menu will consist of a traditional Thanksgiving meal including turkey, ham, dressing, green beans, potatoes, bread, corn, cranberry sauce, desserts and beverages.
This Thanksgiving Community Outreach has two focuses:
- To provide a Thanksgiving meal at the high school to families in our community who have been affected by our nation’s struggling economy.
Please get the word out to those you may know who would benefit from this and we would encourage you to go the extra mile by coming with them.
- A second focus of this community outreach will be to deliver meals to the public servants of our community who will be working on Thanksgiving Day which in the past years has included our Police and Fire departments, nursing homes staff, Bill Nichol’s veteran’s home staff, and others.
